Currently we are looking for the following: Job ID: 16477 Job Title : Physical Therapist Location : Dallas, TX Description General Summary: The Physical Therapist organizes, conducts and oversees medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs in the Physical Therapy Department to improve patient function and prevent disability following disease or injury. Helps patients reach maximum performance within the limits of his/her capabilities. The Physical Therapist is active in department activities, transdisciplinary team activities, to ensure individualized, patient-centered health care for all patient populations admitted. PATIENT POPULATION: Delivers direct patient care appropriate to the patients served. The ages of the patients served are adult (18-65 years of age) and geriatric (65 and older). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Demonstrates proper performance of skills reflected and validated by the Physical Therapist competency checklist. 2. Performs documentation in a timely and efficient manner. This includes assessments, reassessments, progress notes, discharge summaries, patient and family education, staffing sheets, and transdisciplinary plan of care. 3. Performs initial assessments and develops a plan of care per the physician’s consult. 4. Evaluates the patient’s progress and modifies the plan of care as needed. 5. Maintains standards of patient care by reviewing documentation written by PTA's in the medical record and by demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary in providing care from the young adult to geriatric population. Adapts or modifies techniques as needed (especially in regards to: positioning, limitations in joint range, arthritic conditions, decreased balance, decreased endurance, degeneration, integumentary defects and previous functional levels). 6. Demonstrates the ability to maintain an appropriate patient caseload, effectively schedules patient's treatment sessions, and maintains patient's records and charges. REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from an accredited school LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: 1. Licensed Physical Therapist in state where currently practicing 2. Current BLS certification 3. Current ACLS preferred EXPERIENCE: • 1-3 yrs in Hospital MUST HAVE: Education: Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from an accredited school LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: 1.
